The Hautpman Family (Mamiya 645 w/80mm @ f/1.9)

I do love shooting medium format… the shallow depth of field, the ergonomics, the dynamic range, and the entire shooting experience. I’ve photographed the Hauptman family the last 5 years and this year we decided to head to Breckenridge, Colorado for family photos. This portrait will be hanging in their home next week and will look timeless even in 20 years.

I love the look of a medium format film camera! It has such a natural feel to the images. I couldn’t sleep so I decided to start my own 101 goals like you have and I’m going through all your blog post from the past because I find that your blog really inspires me to move forward as a photographer. I know this so dorky to say but as I read through your post I’m becoming your number one fan!
