Denby & Henni {Waialua, Hawaii}

Nestled between the foothills and shores of Mokuleia, Denby & Henni tied the knot surrounded by family and friends from France to Palau at Dillingham Ranch in the North Shore of O’ahu. Shaved Ice, banyan trees, and white crown flower leis hinted at the amazing wedding details in Hawaii.

Often in the wedding industry, everyone knows everyone. And in Hawaii, it’s not much different, which made this extra wedding special on a personal level for me. I’m honored to work with Kevin Omura at Kuleana Design who ensures everything comes together seamlessly, beautiful. Kevin coordinated our wedding, also on Oahu, as Denby made some big efforts on our big day. Returning creative favors are always a joy!

In addition, family participated as VIP volunteers, pitching in with friendly spirits to make everything from Denby’s dress to spreading homemade luminaries during the evening. Efforts were fused together to form a terrific, hard working group in adoration of Denby and Henni. To see them sit down and enjoy the wedding was terrific and I simply can’t imagine a better creative environment!

I really loved every minute of sushi, leis, tie boutonnieres, and all.

    Even though I wasn’t there, I can feel the warmth and joy of the bride, groom and family in the images you captured. Great photos, as always, RJ!

    Well done! Ditto on Kristopher’s comment…that last photo captures the setting and the heavenly light show going on above the earthly light show at the wedding. That is our galaxy, the Milky Way, top to bottom through the middle of the night sky, looking like a giant gas cloud. The Perseid meteor shower was going on all evening. As our family departed through the dark field we had to pause for awhile to enjoy a magnificent show of stars & meteors. A perfect exclamation to a wonderful event.

    RJ- Through our wedding you told us “have a moment” and some times it seemed as though the whole day was a moment. It is hard to explain when there is so much joy and emotion to be held in a single moment. The picture you have us looking through the crown flower facing away from each other with the beautiful light, when you told us to relax and not smile…I think my face said it all…I can’t not smile today. Thank you and Kevin (Kuleana Design) for capturing and expressing the love Henni and I share and creating the happiest day of my life.
