Boston Wedding at the Lenox Hotel {Emma & Adam}

This Lenox Hotel wedding in Boston offered the perfect backdrop to Emma & Adam’s photos, with an eye for quality and service without pretension… and heaps of fun.

Emma and Adam are a perfect pairing of cool cats, even though both dog and cat hair adorn their couch.

Emma knew Adam was the one when he told her the story about “the cats running the Pirate ship.”. She loves his thoughtfulness and patience. Her erratic behavior doesn’t bother him. She appreciates his taste in music. And patterned shirts.

Adam loves Emma’s passion, humor, caring sensibilities… and cute looks, too.

During their ceremony, Father Murphy quoted Owen Wilson’s character in Wedding Crashers: “True love is the soul’s recognition of its counterpoint in another,” a fitting remark given that Adam and Emma complement one another perfectly. Getting married in the Catholic church was important to them both. A Gospel passage read by Father Murphy reminded guests, “You are the salt of the earth and you are the light of the world.” French sea salt gifted by candlelight to each guest at their Lenox Hotel wedding reception reflected this sentiment, adorned with peony and floral fragrance by Table and Tulip. And the bridal party at Boston Public Garden looked like they belonged in Vanity Fair.

The First Look at Boston Public Library (the security guards are somewhat accommodating). Inscribed in granite on the frieze, “Library of the City of Boston Built By The People And Dedicated To The Advancement of Learning.” It’s it ironic? This is one of my favorite fearless images from the wedding:

We then dashed across the street to Fabulous Frocks where the owner, Amanda, lent us her store for a few minutes to use as a studio. I’ve always wanted to do a shoot inside a bridal shop. The irony is it rarely happens…. Most girls dream about their wedding, envisioning the details, the love, the moments… standing in front of the mirror. We drew that reflection… and how fitting that an actual wedding portrait session occurred here!!! Both Adam and Emma commented how much fun they had (they are all about irony in life, yet tell it as it is).

After the ceremony we explored a boathouse along the Charles River.

Rooftop wedding photo at the Lenox Hotel made for an edgy, editorial-style shoot using the medium-format PhaseOne IQ260 lit with studio lighting:

The red bow award once again gets pinned on to photographer Matt Steaffens as my gift to the wedding couple (two adorable guys for the price of one)!
