8 hours in miami

We spent the day in Miami and experienced South Beach. We figured out why the "South Beach Diet" is so darn effective:
all the restaurants are so darn expensive! But the place is uniquely American with fast cars, art deco architecture,
and sun-loving people.

caribbean cruise

My brother, Sean, his fiancee, Molly, and Nicole & I spent a week aboard the Carnival Valor and visited Grand Cayman (Cayman Islands), Roatan Island (Honduras), Belize, and Costa Maya (Mexico) during Spring Break. Scuba Diving, sleeping, eating, exploring new places, and meeting new people were among the highlights. The good food, music, and the local color outlasted any sunburn. We had all week to spend shooting and editing images, R. J. and Nicole indulged in a little creative exercise to show what a vacation looks like through our eyes. We narrowed them down and compiled our Top 100 images showcasing our excuse to creative stuff!

colorado crush

What do you get when you take an NFL playing field, cut it in half, and double the energy? Arena football! Colorado’s only AFL team, the Crush defeated Arizona rattlers Friday night 56-45. Denver Sports Guide offered a wonderful opportunity to participate as a press photographer with special access. Have a look at some highlight photos here >>

fridgehenge

We dig art projects. Fridgehendge, just outside of Sante Fe, is a great place for creativity. A buddy of mine, Kyle Olmon, introduced this place to me and anytime I'm near Sante Fe, I try and sleuth it out. The lighting was gorgeous and it was a spectacular creative place and time for produce what I call "Fridgehenge SQUARES." Check out Gallery 1 and Gallery 2.

So abstract.....they make your mind just wander! On day you may see work just like this hanging on gallery walls!

I'm a sucker for this window, as several years ago Nicole and I took our first road trip and SHE took a photograph just like this and then I wanted to go back and take one just like it, only with MY camera....I guess that's the best compliment I could have given her perspective!

Georgia O'Keefe spent some time here painting, as have many missionaries dating back long, long ago. The cool thing about the church is the building construction, out of local materials (clay!). They have rebuilt this church many times after severe flooding!

I love little off-cropped images and color like this!

ok go

Denver radio DJ Pete McKay at 99.5 The Mountain offered us an opportunity to hang with 2007 award-winning Grammy band, OK Go from Washington, DC and Chicago. The guys were chill, just like their music! They are on tour right now with The Fray. They will be big soon! Check them out! >>
