being a best man for my brother, sean, meant that i was responsible for the bachelor party, a time honored tradition for which i took very seriously:) held just before christmas to allow for ample recovery time, we decided to hold it in lawton, oklahoma (our most recent "family" home). not all the groomsman were able to make it at the same time, so we filled a family friend (eric, far right pictured below) as an honorable groomsman. we had a blast!

there were lots of guy shenanigans. in addition, boondock saints, the untouchables, reservoir dogs, and superbad made a special appearance in dvd form.

the last several days have been spent with family in oklahoma and colorado.

i promised this entry for my parents in oklahoma before we left for the bahamas for my brother's wedding.

duke and holly, dash's yorkshire terriers cousins, were a big response to my parents' empty nest syndrome. cute as a button, these pedigree pooches have won over my parents. in addition, they were a big party of my brother's bachelor party last weekend. 18 months old and weighing in a 3.5 lbs, here's holly:

it has been over 18 months since my mom, dad, brother and i have been together and over 4 years since we've been together at my parent's house. we miss our spouses, as they are an important part of the family. we will all be together in a whirlwind destination wedding in the bahamas later next week. here's how the kern family started:



my mom cooked up a killer italian meal at the same kitchen table where we had many meals growing up. thanks, mom:)

in honor of the simpsons movie (dash says, '4 paws up')..the kern family got simpsonized. go simpsonize yourself. btw, the simpson's family pooch, santa's little helper, is dash's great great uncle!

After over a year of building up the image galleries, months of brainstorming web design and logo ideas, and four straight days of "let's just do it", our website is finally live! Many of you have seen us through the multiple versions along the way, but nicole and I put the pedal to the metal so we could put up a beautiful product for our clients, and an even cooler blog to share our moments with those around us. The long awaited release of book 7 (the final in the Harry Potter series) excited Nicole so much we camped out at the Lakwewood Borders bookstore and experienced the 'Grand Hallows Ball', which provided Potter fans a chance to show their enthusiasm for the book release. Nicole's orange bracelet meant she was among the first group to receive their copy, precisely at the stroke of midnight.


There could have been more people than books at Borders during the midnight release.

Today we celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary! I love, love, love you and am so glad I made the decision to ask you to marry me....and I'm so glad you said YES!!!

We had a Whole Foods fest with favorite friends, Jayme and Ryan (Cody, too!). Nothing like a good glass (or two!) of vino and laughter!
