Megan and Carlos really have succeeded, as I read this quote posted on a sign hanging in our home. Emerson’s sentiment matched Megan and Carlos’s wedding day in Fuquay-Varina, NC precisely. I breathed easier just being around them on their wedding day, freeing me to creative what I love best: creative portraits documenting real moments and important details. Thank you for inviting me into your lives!
Like many of my clients, we met at a cousin’s wedding shortly after they were engaged. We hit it off. Almost immediately they booked and we hit the ground running while on their their engagement session. We took a few creative chances and created a few favorite images which landed in my 2011 Images of the Year… even this one with some extra edgy light made for a mounted 20” x 30” print in Carlos’s Man Cave.
Two families fused together, surrounded in a European-esque landscapes that would inspire the Old Masters. Candlelight, reflections, timeless moments… and an iPod?? I been thinking about this image inspired by one of my early mentors, Jerry Ghionis. I love all the subtle layers…the candle, the mirror reflection, the flower girl, and of course a painting:
Kids will be kids.
