day at the zoo

each year we become a member at a special 'expand your mind' place. last year was our grand dam. this year it's the denver zoo. we have always had a love/hate relationship with zoos. while we opt for their family-friendly, mind-opening experience, zoos can also lead to the disneyfication of nature. as photographers, we must avoid imparting the notion that our images of big game behind bars were taken on an african safari. disclaimer stated... now back to regular programming. meerkat manor, anyone?
